AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has become a sudden contender for the manager role at Everton, should Roberto Martinez leave Goodison Park.

Michael Laudrup is the current bookies favourite, with new candidate Eddie Howe becoming joint second with former Everton star Alan Stubbs.

This surprising news comes after Bournemouth thumped Fulham 5-1 away from home, which keeps the Cherries in contention for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Eddie Howe’s side are currently at the top of the Championship on goal difference, as everyone in the top 4 sit on 66 points.

Howe is a Bournemouth man through-and-through, as this is his second time in charge of the club, where he departed the club for a short time at Burnley, setting the foundations for when they achieved promotion to the Premier League under Sean Dyche.

Should a managerial opportunity arrive, would he leave for a role at Everton?
