Betting Preview: Saturday 9th November

The Championship produces, in my opinion, some of the most entertaining football in the English divisions and this is why it is great from not only a viewing stance but a betting one as well.

I’ll be tipping up a few bets that I think not only offer value (we all know this can be hard to come by with football odds being so low) but also have a realistic chance of coming in. So, what looks good this week?

READING V QPR

With QPR sitting 3rd and Reading 5th in the league this promises to be a tight affair. The past 3 league encounters have all been low scoring with 2 draws (1-1 and 0-0) with QPR winning one fixture 1-0. QPR rarely concede and went on a 9 game run of clean sheets so Reading will have their work cut out breaching QPR’s defenses. However, I feel Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has what it takes to put one into the back of the net.

I can not see QPR going down without a fight and can definitely see them taking at least 1 point away from this fixture.

MIDDLESBOROUGH V WATFORD

Middlesborough have had  a fine run of home form and they come into this fixture unbeaten in their last 5 home games, 2 of which were high scoring wins (4-0 and 4-1) and 3 draws. Watford currently stand 7th in the league (9 places above Middlesborough) but I would not let this fact sway us from thinking that Middlesborough don’t have a serious chance of taking this. 4 of the last 5 league fixtures have ended in a 2-1 result (2 a piece) but with Middlesborough being an outstanding force at home as of late I would have to give them the nod.
