Posh bring in Beautyman

Peterborough United have today confirmed the signing of Welling United midfielder Harry Beautyman on an initial emergency loan: which is expected to turn permanent in January.

Posh Chairman Darragh MacAnthony broke the news via twitter as he so often does:

Delighted to announce that young goalscoring midfielder Harry Beautyman has signed on emergency loan with view to perm transfer in January.”

Beautyman joins the London Road club after scoring 11 goals in 21 appearances so far this season in the Conference. Having come through League One rival Leyton Orient’s academy, the 22-year-old goes straight into the squad to face Bristol City on Friday evening.

The lack of creativity and goal threat from midfield has been of concern from many Posh fans since the injury to star man Marcus Maddison last month. But Beautyman will hope to fill the often cavernous gap between the midfield and attack.

The Welling man joins an illustrious list of non-league finds from Peterborough United in recent years. Players such as George Boyd, Aaron McLean and Lee Tomlin were all scouted from the ‘basement leagues’.
