The72 FA Cup Weekend Awards: First Round Proper

UPSET OF THE WEEKEND: Coventry City 1-2 Worcester City

What an upset as sixth-tier side Worcester City knocked out former winners and League One side Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena. It all went downhill for the Sky Blues after goalkeeper Lee Burge saw red for lashing out at Daniel Nti, with Sean Geddes stepping up and firing the Conference North side into the lead.

Coventry skipper Reda Johnson missed from the penalty spot just before the break but Geddes made it 2-0 to Worcester just ten minutes after half-time. Johnson would claim a consolation but it wasn’t enough, not bad for a side that are currently homeless but they won’t care, the second round looms large for them now.
