Chris Neal- Port Vale’s stopper may not have been able to keep a clean-sheet but he was in outstanding form on Saturday. Brentford bossed the game from start to finish, mustering up 25 shots at goal with 13 on target. Neal made two fantastic saves in the second half ensuring that the score line remained respectable.

Scott Cuthbert Cuthbert enjoyed a fine afternoon against Carlisle at the weekend as the defender came away with a goal, a clean sheet and an assist. Greg Fleming was frustrating the hosts so when Cuthbert powered home a header in the 43rd minute it meant the whole ground could breathe a sigh of relief.

Danny Batth- It was another solid display at the back for Wolves’ Danny Batth who limited Preston’s top scorer Joe Garner to just one golden opportunity. In fairness to Batth it was an audacious effort from distance which was well worthy of a goal but just came back off the underside of the crossbar.

Mathieu Baudry- Baudry has been a key figure for the O’s this season, featuring in 23 of their 25 league games so far. Orient dominated on the day but when the defender was called into action he dealt with the danger comfortably and ensured the O’s kept track with pace setters Brentford.

Scott Golbourne- Personally, I feel this weekend was Scott’s finest performance in a Wolves shirt. He didn’t put a foot wrong, he dealt with the early pressure that was put on by Preston and linked up well with Michael Jacobs down the left hand side. A top quality performance from the ex-Barnsley full-back.

Kevin McDonald- Since arriving from Sheffield McDonald has played a key part in Wolves’ revival under Jackett this season. Sitting just in front of the back four has enabled him to dictate many matches this season and Saturday was just the same. McDonald was also instrumental in David Edwards’ opener as he burst forward to slip the Welshman through one on one.

Kieran Agard- Agard has been immense for the Millers this campaign and it took the club’s top scorer just 29 minutes to net his ninth league goal, a quality first touch and finish to boot. There is a reason why Agard has featured in every league game this season and has played every minute of Rotherham’s last 16 league games.

Lee Frecklington- Frecklington was pivotal in Rotherham’s win at the weekend, where the Millers twice came from behind to defeat Crewe Alexandra. Frecklington dominated the midfield, scoring twice to make it 2-2 and 4-2 respectively. His first a quality penalty, followed up by a fantastic finish from a tight angle to seal the points and secure Rotherham only their second win in nine home league games.

Milan Lalkovic- The Chelsea loanee scored one of the goals of the weekend with a fantastic 25-yard strike at Prenton Park on Saturday. The 21-year-old carried the ball from his own half and after a couple of step-overs curled the ball past the helpless Richard O’Donnell. Lalkovic has five goals this season and knows that Walsall need to be more ruthless if they are going to make an assault on the top six.

Nile Ranger- Just days ago it seemed that Mark Cooper had given up on the controversial striker but Ranger returned to the starting line-up to score a top class header. It is believed that Ranger has issued an apology to his teammates and they were all desperate for him to stay at the club. The forward has seven goals in all competitions this season and many believe that his ability his held back by his petulant attitude.

Alex Revell- Revell doesn’t get the goals that perhaps he should but at the weekend he put in a fantastic shift for the Millers and deservedly got his goal. A sublime cross from Ben Pringle which was finished emphatically by the 30-year-old from Cambridge. A great day for Rotherham who close the gap to just six points on Preston in fourth place.
