TEAM OF THE WEEKEND: Bournemouth
Back in Week 1, Bournemouth earned the award for a terrific 5-0 win that I didn’t think they’d be able to top. I was wrong, they decimated a sorry managerless and rudderless Birmingham City side 8-0 and on another day it could have been more, with everyone trying to get in on the act.
A treble from Marc Pugh, a double from Tokelo Rantie and goals from Brett Pitman, Callum Wilson and Matt Richie saw the Cherries match their South Coast rivals Southampton’s impressive score from last weekend and sees them jump to fourth in the table. With six wins in their last seven, Eddie Howe’s boys are getting back to the form they showed early on in the season and look like they’ll be in the playoff mix come the end of the season, especially if they pull out any more spectacular performances.
