5 things we learned about the Championship this weekend

Perfect audition from Fulham’s Symons

Kit-SymonsFulham have short-listed three men for the vacant manager’s job with an appointment expected in the coming days following interviews. The men in question are former Norwich manager Chris Hughton, former West Brom boss Steve Clark and current caretaker Kit Symons. It is the latter who has the old adage of being the man in possession and it would take a bold man to look elsewhere after the grand job Symons has done. In his five games in charge the Cottagers have claimed nine points, although this weekend’s win was the pick of the bunch. Hosting league leaders Norwich left some feeling apprehensive at Craven Cottage, but they soon had no concerns Sean Kavanagh fired home a quarter of the way through the game. A slice of luck went the way of Fulham when Lewis Grabban struck a penalty against the bar, but they were more than value for the three points and it is going to be an interesting week off the pitch as Fulham close their search for a new boss.
