GOAL OF THE WEEKEND: Mark Yeates – Bradford City
There’s something really special about a well-placed free-kick and Mark Yeates pulled out a Beckham-esque beauty for the Bantams this weekend. From around 25-yards outs, Yeates picked to put it in the top right corner and just stroked the ball past a helpless Chris Neal in the Port Vale goal.
It was a finish deserving to win any game but it wasn’t to be this one as Vale fought back to earn a slightly controversial draw but more of this from Bradford and they could start climbing up the table sooner rather than later. It’s certainly a goal Yeates should save to annoy his grandchildren with for many years to come and you absolutely wouldn’t blame him for doing so.
