charlton-athletic-yoni-buyensRecent seasons in the Championship for Charlton have seen them in the midst of relegation scraps right down until the end of the season. If the opening six games of this season are anything to go by than it is going to be a far more enjoyable season for the Addicks’ supporters. In one of the weekend’s big games with sixth in the table Charlton hosting second in the table Watford. To add a little bit of extra spice it was Oscar Garcia’s first game in charge of the Hornets. Charlton gained control early on through a penalty which Yoni Buyens cooly put past Heurelho Gomes after just three minutes. It was not an easy lead to hold onto as Watford boost one of the best attacking forces in the league but defenders Tal Ben Haim and Bikey Amougou were up to the challenge. The win drew Charlton level on points with Watford and they also climbed one place to forth. Charlton are well position, just two points behind league leaders Nottingham Forest and will hope to continue their good form with a win on Tuesday at home to Wolves.
