Derby’s Martin Signs New Deal

Derby County striker Chris Martin has signed a new 4 year contract, the club has reported.

Martin, who joined from Norwich on a free transfer in 2013, was The Ram’s top scorer last season, netting 23 goals in all competitions. His goal scoring acumen combined with his ability to hold the ball up while his midfielder’s run the overlap lead to acclaim not only from Derby fans, but from pundits and supporters across the league last season.

I think it is fair to say that we are delighted Chris Martin has signed a new four-year deal” said Rams boss Steve Mclaren.
“He is the focal point of our attack but there is so much more to his game than scoring goals. He brings others into play and he is a real presence for us”

The 25 year old joins Will Hughes, Jake Buxton, Jeff Hendrick and Craig Bryson as a key player who has signed a new contract with Derby in the last 4 months.
