UPSET OF THE WEEKEND: Accrington Stanley 3-2 Tranmere Rovers
This local derby was pretty feisty but Accrington will be delighted to pick up their first win of the season against a decent Tranmere side. Despite going in front early on from a penalty, Stanley were pegged back before finding themselves behind on 70 minutes thanks to a double from Rovers winger Abdulai Bell-Baggie.
However, the famous milk advert side never gave in hope and deserved their equaliser 8 minutes later before a mistake allowed Kai Naismith to pop up with the winner. A team many picked to be relegated managing to beat a team that was almost in the Championship two years ago is a big upset in my book, but there’s more to the story than that…
