Luton won’t be pleased with the start they have had
At the start of the season Luton were looked at as one of the favourites to win promotion into League 1; in the FourFourTwo season preview, experienced manager Martin Allen backed the Hatters to go straight up and William Hill installed them as 7/1 joint favourites to win the league outright. Things haven’t gone particularly well for them though on their return to the Football League; a good barometer to show this is that William Hill now have them at 20/1 in the same market. Since beating Carlisle in their first match, the Hatters have lost three out of five matches and, despite a very good draw against Bury, Luton fans would have expected better from their team. John Still’s team sit 19th following a very disappointing home defeat to Plymouth this weekend and they do have a couple of tough matches still to come this month, so they will have to improve very quickly.
