4 things we learned about League 2 this weekend

Luton won’t be pleased with the start they have had

Luton TownAt the start of the season Luton were looked at as one of the favourites to win promotion into League 1; in the FourFourTwo season preview, experienced manager Martin Allen backed the Hatters to go straight up and William Hill installed them as 7/1 joint favourites to win the league outright. Things haven’t gone particularly well for them though on their return to the Football League; a good barometer to show this is that William Hill now have them at 20/1 in the same market. Since beating Carlisle in their first match, the Hatters have lost three out of five matches and, despite a very good draw against Bury, Luton fans would have expected better from their team. John Still’s team sit 19th following a very disappointing home defeat to Plymouth this weekend and they do have a couple of tough matches still to come this month, so they will have to improve very quickly.
