Bradford City’s fine start to the season continued last Saturday with their 2-0 win at Rochdale. A huge travelling support saw goals from the in-form James Hanson and Jason Kennedy give the Bantams the win.
City will be hoping to continue this form as they play Yeovil Town at Valley Parade, with manager Phil Parkinson having a near-full strength squad to pick from, with only Andrew Davies out injured. Gary Liddle will return, having being rested in midweek, and Mason Bennett will be looking to impress the Valley Parade crowd, playing upfront alongside Hanson.
Leeds United lost key striker Matt Smith on deadline day to Fulham, bringing in Brian Montenegro on loan to replace him. Still without a manager, caretaker boss Neil Redfearn will be hoping to build on last week’s 1-0 home win against Bolton Wanderers, as they play Birmingham City in the early kick-off. Striker Dominic Poleon also left Leeds on deadline day, so should Leeds United’s strikers suffer a few injuries, there could be an issue with regards to the depth of the squad.
Huddersfield Town appointed former Charlton boss Chris Powell as manager this week, and Powell will have to kickstart Town’s season, with The Terriers only accumulating 4 points from their opening 5 games. Experienced defender Mark Hudson has joined from Cardiff, along with Jack Robinson, and that should shore up Huddersfield’s defence, which has been leaky of late. Town lost 4-2
at Watford last week, and will be hoping to bounce back from that defeat as they entertain Middlesborough tomorrow.
