The Scottish midfielder has been sold to Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee.
McAthur passed his medical moments ago and has signed a three-year-contract at Selhurst Park.
The 26-year-old was part of the Wigan side that won the FA Cup in 2013 after defeating Premier League giants Manchester City. He has featured 129 times in four years at the DW Stadium scoring eleven goals in that time. He has also featured numerous times for his national side, Scotland.
He was previously linked with a move to Premier League new boys Leicester City earlier this transfer window, but the deal had broken down after The Foxes signed Esteban Cambiasso instead. But, The Eagles have swooped in and snapped up McArthur for a club record fee. The midfielders brilliant distribution will surely be crucial for Crystal Palace this season.
