Irish international Shane Duffy has signed for Rovers on a three-year-deal.

The 22-year-old has today joined Ewood Park for an undisclosed fee from Everton, after only making ten appearances in five years at Goodison. Gary Bowyer says he will be filling the position of Scott Dann, who left Blackburn in January.

Duffy spent all of last season on loan to now League One side Yeovil Town and previously had loan spells at Burnley and Scunthorpe.

Bowyer had this to say about Duffy after their game on Saturday “Shane will bring a lot of size and quality and we’ve known about him for a long time from watching him at youth level at Everton. He’s dominant in both boxes, especially in the air.”
