Barnsley have announced that defender Joe Dudgeon has extended his loan spell at the club until January 5th, 2015.

The 23-year-old joined Barnsley from Hull City on a one-month loan deal but impressed Reds manager Danny Wilson during his five appearances this season.

“It’s a great bonus for us. He’s a little warrior and a tremendous young player. I’m delighted he’s staying on,” said Wilson, speaking to the club’s official website.

The left-back began his career at Manchester United but failed to make an appearance for the Premier League club and was loaned out to Carlisle United.

He signed for Hull City in 2011 and played 33 games for The Tigers. He signed a one-year contract in July 2014 but was loaned out to Barnsley.
