Andrew Surman, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth has all but finalised a move from Norwich to the Dorset outfit.

Neil Perrett, of the Bournemouth Echo, broke the story at around 4:30 on deadline day. He tweeted the following:

Surman was an ever-present for the Cherries last season playing 35 goals in the club’s first season back in the Championship for over 20 years. Rumours have been linking Bournemouth with the midfielder all summer, however the signing of Dan Gosling suggested that the move was off.

Speculation resurfaced at the weekend when Surman was left out of the Norwich squad and the deal is all but done once a medical and paperwork are complete. The fee is believed to be in the region of £500,000 and Surman would be the Cherries 4th signing of the summer after bringing in the aforementioned Gosling, Junior Stanislas from Burnley and striker Callum Wilson from Coventry.

Surman, who came through the youth academy at Southampton, has had spells at Wolves and been with Norwich since 2010. He planned to fight for a place this season at Carrow Road, but with opportunities limited he was always keen for a move and going back to Bournemouth where he had such a good season last time round made it an obvious move.
