Wigan Athletic have finally confirmed the signing of Brentford midfielder Adam Forshaw, according to the club’s website.

The 22-year-old’s move has been on the cards all week and after a long negotiation process, the former Everton player has signed a four-year deal with the Latics. Forshaw was voted League One’s Player of the Season last year and his former manager Uwe Rosler saw him as the ideal candidate to replace Jordi Gomez.

Rosler said: “Our patience has been rewared and we have got a fantastic young player at the right age and the right price for Wigan Athletic.”

Forshaw will be the club’s second deadline-day deal after the signing of Tours striker earlier today.
