Middlesbrough snap up Jelle Vossen

Middlesbrough have announced the signing of striker Jelle Vossen on a season-long loan deal from Belgian side Genk, according to the Northern Echo.

Boro have been chasing the 25-year-old for the best part of 12 months, having had several bids knocked back they’ve finally agreed a deal to bring the Belgian to the Riverside. The forward scored 12 goals in 38 games last season in the Belgian Pro League and will be another attacking option for Aitor Karanka after already bringing in Kike and Patrick Bamford over the summer.

Vossen is the second deadline-day signing for Middlesbrough after they completed a deal for Heerenveen winger Yanic Wildschut for £800,000 earlier this morning.
