Carlisle United have dismissed manager Graham Kavanagh this morning, according to the BBC.
Kavanagh managed just one win in the Cumbrians’ last 11 games and leaves the club 22nd in League Two. The 40-year-old also failed to stop the club’s relegation last season after replacing Greg Abbott last September and has oversaw another poor start to the season as Carlisle have failed to win in their first five games of the season for the second year running.
A statement on the club’s website said: “Regretfully, it has been decided to dispense with Graham’s services after a very difficult and disappointing start to the season”
Club captain Paul Thirlwell and goalkeeping coach Tony Craig will take temporary charge as the club begin to look for a replacement.
