Leeds United have had their bid for Kieran Agard accepted by Rotherham United, according to Sean Taylor of the Press Association.

Agard played a pivotal role in Rotherham’s promotion to The Championship, scoring 21 goals in League 1 last season.

On Thursday morning, The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Agard had been on the radar of Leeds last season with owner Massimo Cellino watching him live at Rotherham’s second leg play-off semi final against Preston at the New York Stadium.

Following a disappointing start to this year’s Championship campaign, Cellino has now been forced to act quickly in signing new recruits. In the last 24 hours the club have signed Giuseppe Bellusci, Liam Cooper and Billy Sharp and with Agard in the ranks, The Whites will be tougher opposition than first though.
