Blackburn Rovers receive enquiry from Hearts over striker Dominic Samuel

According to a report from the Edinburgh News, Hearts have made an enquiry about the availability of Blackburn Rovers striker Dominic Samuel, as Daniel Stendel looks to make his mark on his Hearts squad in his first transfer window as manager at Tynecastle.

Blackburn Rovers striker Dominic Samuel is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs this January transfer window, with the Edinburgh News reporting that Scottish Premiership side Hearts have made an enquiry about the Rovers forward.

The report states that several clubs are holding an interest in Samuel this January, but it is Hearts who have made an initial approach in their rumoured pursuit of the Blackburn striker.

Samuel, 25, has found his involvement in the first-team picture has been limited this season. The likes of Sam Gallagher, Ben Brereton, Adam Armstrong and Danny Graham are all ahead of Samuel in the pecking order at Ewood Park, limiting him to just two substitute appearances for Tony Mowbray’s side so far this season.

Since signing from Reading in the summer of 2017, Samuel has played 46 times in all competitions for Rovers, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in the process. The club’s promotion to the Championship was the start of Samuel’s slip down the pecking order and he has struggled to make an impact on the first-team picture.

Now, with Hearts among the reported several sides interested in potentially signing Samuel this month, it will be interesting to see if he remains with Rovers or if he makes a move away before the window slams shut.
