Tottenham determined to sign West Brom youngster

Tottenham Hotspur are still very much in the hunt to sign highly rated West Brom teenager Nathan Ferguson.

The Sun claims that the north London side are not giving up in their pursuit to bring the 19-year-old to Spurs after having first registered their interest in the player two months ago.

The Premier League side sent their top scout Brian Carey to monitor Ferguson as he played in the Baggies’ 1-0 win at Preston North End on Monday.

There are rumours that the right-back may move abroad when his contract expires at the end of the season but Spurs and fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace are reportedly keen to hijack any move to Europe.

New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has also said that he is willing to give youngsters a chance in the first team with Troy Parrott and Ryan Sessegnon set to play in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Ferguson joined West Brom when he was just eight years old and signed his first professional contract with the club two years ago.

He only broke into the first team earlier this season after making his debut in a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest but since then he has played a pivotal role in helping to establish and maintain the Baggies’ position at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table.
