4 things we learned about League 2 this weekend

Luton and Cambridge are going to be competitive

Mark CullenAfter winning promotion back to the Football League, it wasn’t completely clear what to expect from Luton and Cambridge. Luton are being touted as a potential promotion challenger whilst Cambridge are outside bet for a top-half finish, but with all recently promoted club there was an element of the unknown coming into the first game. These thoughts have been quickly banished though as both clubs started their season’s with 1-0 wins. Cambridge could afford to miss a penalty against Plymouth as Josh Coulson scored the only goal of the game in the 61st minute whilst a group of hardy Luton fans made the long trip to Cumbria to witness a slender victory of recently relegated Carlisle, thanks to a Mark Cullen tap-in, mid-way through the first half. Cambridge will travel to Portsmouth next weekend, whilst Luton are at home to Wimbledon, and both will be hopeful of continuing their winning start.
