Most Town fans are doubtful over the re-appointment of Clark however the ex-Town gaffer could return to his old club to help save them from what already appears set to be a season of turmoil.

Last season, Clark completed the seemingly impossible task of keeping Birmingham up last season in the 93rd minute of time with Paul Caddis finding the goal however he may not want to put himself through another season of torment at St Andrews.

With Huddersfield possessing striking quality in the ranks of Nahki Wells and James Vaughan, if he took over he would surely be looking to recapture the form in his strikers that his Rhodes-Novak partnership had when he was last in West-Yorkshire. With him proving to be highly successful back at the terriers, he will need to bring success back to the club and quickly if given the job as most Town fans seem highly pessimistic about their chances this season after a 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth alongside Robins’ sacking compounded their misery. With only 2 wins in 22 for Huddersfield, Clark would have to bring 3 points home fast to win over the fans again.

After play-off consistency with the terriers and holding a Football League record of 43 unbeaten games, Clarke may want to return as quickly as possible to his former employers.
