One of the surprise results of the weekend was found at Gigg Lane, which saw Cheltenham Town surprise League 2 title favourites with a 1-0 win. Joe Hanks came off the bench early due to an injury to Asa Hall, and he scored the only goal of the game with three minutes left of the first half. Bury will be disappointed with their shooting accuracy, with only 2 shots on target from their 16 attempts at goal.
Morecambe became the early pace setters of League Two with a scintillating performance which saw them defeat their hosts Dagenham & Redbridge 3-0. Goals from Kevin Ellison, Padraig Amond and an added time tap in for Jack Redshaw saw off the Daggers.
