A Sensational start to the 2014/15 campaign

An amazing way to start the season with two teams looking to kick their season off with 3 points on the board. The game was battled out by both teams the whole way through the match and the score line shows the team that fully deserved victory.

Both teams were fast out of the blocks on the opening day with chances falling to Jordan Clarke and Jim O’Brien of Coventry in the opening 15 minutes. Both Coventry and Bradford were playing at a good tempo and It was enjoyable to watch, the game rapidly improved and by the 27th minute Bradford had broken the deadlock with a great header from James Hanson. Great build up play through the middle of the park before  a lovely ball in from Billy Clarke followed up by a leaping header from James Hanson, that was his opening goal of his campaign and Bradford’s first to. The second goal of the game came from a corner that was a controversial decision, Bradford players were left speechless when the Coventry captain Reda Johnson headed home from close range to make it 1-1. Early into the second half a penalty was given to the Bantams after the Coventry scorer fouled Hanson, Alan Sheehan converted from the spot to make it 2-1. The game slowed down and was still a good game to watch until the 89th minute when the Coventry centre half Reda Johnson, grabbed his second of the game with a right footed shot from close range. Moments later a beautifully weighted cross from Jason Kennedy picked out James Hanson in the box who grabbed his second of the game, after another 5 minutes of added time the Bantams hung on and clinched 3 points in what was a very bright start to the season. Both teams played well and it was  great game to watch.
