Swansea City goalkeeper seeking January move away

Swansea City goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt is frustrated by his lack of first team action.

The Sweden international could look to move on in the January transfer window, according to a report by Wales Online.

Nordfeldt, who is 30 years-old, has fallen down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium with Newcastle United loanee Ben Woodman taking the number one spot this season.

The stopper joined Swans in 2015 from Dutch Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen and has since made 38 appearances for the Welsh side having struggled to nail down a regular starting spot.

Nordfeldt has commented about his future and has said, as per Wales Online: “That question isn’t up to me at all, it’s up to Swansea. But I’m not happy and I don’t suppose they think it’s good that I’m sitting where I’m sitting either, if you can put it like that.”

“It is quite obvious that they are not happy to pay what they do to me when I am not contributing. Especially considering the situation the club is in financially. There is good interest but then it will work with the club in question as well.”

Swansea boss Steve Cooper has said: “If you asked them [Nordfeldt and Erwin Mulder] if they were happy, they would probably both say no – and I would want them to say no. What I do know is that with that in mind, they’re not showing any body language or moods that suggest they’re not going to give their best to get that opportunity to play.”
