The Football League season kickoffs again this weekend and on Saturday 9th August the Seagulls welcome the Owls to The Amex in their opening match of the 2014/15 campaign. Both sides will be aiming to begin their season with a victory and get off to a positive start.
After making the playoffs in the last two seasons but falling in the semi-finals, Brighton will be expecting to make the playoffs again as a minimum. For Wednesday they will hoping to stay well clear of the relegation battle this season after two campaigns fighting against the dreaded drop.
In the meetings between the two sides last season it was Sheffield Wednesday who came out on top, taking four points off of Brighton. The match at the Amex finished a score-draw at 1-1 but the return fixture at Hillsborough was won by the Owls 1-0.
