Tom Adeyemi set to join Cardiff

Birmingham City have agreed to sell want-away midfielder Tom Adeyemi to Cardiff City, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The news broke last night after the Blues had rejected a number of offers from the Welsh club for the 22-year-old but the club has eventually buckled due to the player’s desire to leave. The fee is believed to be in excess of £1 million plus add-ons as well as a good sell-on clause for the Midlands club.

Manager Lee Clarke wasn’t keen to see the youngster leave, but with the player being offered a much higher wage with Cardiff and the club’s current financial position, in the end it was difficult to resist. The interest from the relegated Premier League side has intensified since the departure of Jordan Mutch and the club feel Adeyemi is an ideal replacement. The deal should be complete in the next two days, subject to a medical.
