According to the Yorkshire Post, Massimo Cellino has reportedly snubbed a number of players that have been offered to the club including former Leeds hitman Luciano Becchio.

Becchio who left Leeds for a chance in the Premier League with Norwich saw his career stagnate and grind to a halt with the Canaries in which they also dropped down back to the Championship. With the Argentine holding the best time of his career mainly at Elland Road, he would have been keen for a return and probably would have done anything to pave his way back to LS11.

The striker scored 75 goals in 190 appearances for the Whites and now at 30 years old will want to get back playing regular football as a torrid spell at Carrow Road saw him sit on the sidelines for sustained periods of time. Since 2013 he has only made 13 appearances for the Canaries and not scored a single goal in the league either for the club.

At Leeds he failed to score less than 10 goals a season with an average total over a five year stay working out at an impressive 15 goals a season, a solid return over four and a half years especially with his final half season at Leeds seeing him score sixteen goals in twenty-six games.

Billy Sharp is another player who Leeds have apparently turned down with a number of players reportedly being offered to them to which they saw Cellino’s disapproval.

Becchio tweeted the other day a picture of him at Leeds which may have been after he found out a return to his former club may not be possible especially with it being the 6 year anniversary since Leeds signed the Argentine. It was captioned ‘Always in my heart will be Leeds United.’
