Journalist Pete O’Rourke has said that Blackburn Rovers have been joined by Hull City, Preston North End, Reading, Wigan Athletic and Queens Park Rangers in the chase for Charlton Athletic defender Patrick Bauer.
Charlton Athletic centre-back Patrick Bauer is attracting interest from Blackburn Rovers, Hull City, Preston North End, Reading, Wigan Athletic and Queens Park Rangers, journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed on Twitter.
Transfer speculation regarding Bauer’s future at The Valley with newly promoted Charlton is rife at the moment, and O’Rourke tweeted on Wednesday afternoon six of the clubs reportedly keen on the Addicks’ play-off hero (see below).

It has been reported here on The72 that Blackburn Rovers are set to reignite their interest in Bauer this summer after they failed to bring him in last summer. But, Charlton’s hopes of keeping their play-off hero have been massively boosted by their promotion to the Championship.
Addicks boss Lee Bowyer had said that Bauer would be leaving the club to make the move up to the second tier if they failed to win promotion, but speaking after their dramatic win over Sunderland, he said that they would be making a contract offer to the German to try and extend his stay at the club.
Bauer has been a star performer for Charlton Athletic over the course of the past few seasons. Since arriving at the club in 2015, Bauer has gone on to play 135 games for the club since joining from Portuguese side Maritimo. Now, it awaits to be seen if he will be adding to that total next season, or if he will make the move away after four successful years with the club.
