Barnsley defender Liam Lindsay could be considered by Blackburn Rovers this summer.
Tony Mowbray’s are in the hunt for a new centre-back this summer and could move for the 23-year-old, as per a report by the Lancashire Telegraph.
Lindsay impressed for Barnsley in League One this past season and played a key part in their promotion back to the Championship under Daniel Stendel.
He started his career in his native Scotland with Partick Thistle and rose through the youth ranks there. He broke into their first-team after enjoying loan spells at Scottish lower league sides Alloa Athletic and Airdrie as a youngster.
Lindsay went onto play 71 games for Partick in the Scottish Premier League before he was snapped up by Barnsley in 2017. He turned down a move to Oxford United in favour of a move to Yorkshire.
He couldn’t prevent the Tykes from relegation from the Championship in his debut season at Oakwell but has managed to help them be in contention for a return there now.
Lindsay has been linked with a move away from Barnsley regularly over the past year and they will face a battle to hold onto him this summer despite retuning to the Championship.
Blackburn’s current options in central defence are Darragh Lenihan and Charlie Mulgrew meaning they need to sign another this summer. The departures of the likes of Paul Downing and Craig Conway recently will free up wages and allow for more budget to sign players.
