Stoke City in talks over midfielder sale

The Stoke Sentinel has reported that the agent of Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye is trying to negotiate a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, the Stoke Sentinel has reported on Thursday.

Ndiaye has spent the 2018/19 season on loan away from Stoke City, joining Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray on loan during the summer transfer window, after the Potters were relegated to the Championship. The Senegal international played only one Championship game before making the move to Turkey.

During his time in Turkey, Ndiaye played 32 games, netting three goals and providing six assists across all competitions along the way. Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim will reportedly not be looking to bring the midfielder back to the club on a permanent basis this summer.

Stoke City boss Nathan Jones had been hoping that he could bring Ndiaye back into the team ahead of the 2019/20 season, as he looks to improve on last season’s disappointing 16th place finish. However, with reports emerging linking him with a move away from the bet365 Stadium, the midfielder could make a move away.

Ndiaye joined Stoke in the January transfer window of 2018, coming in to try and boost their hopes of survival. However, Ndiaye couldn’t help Paul Lambert’s side stave off relegation. The midfielder played a total of 13 games for the club, scoring two goals and picking up one assist along the way.
