4 York City players that should impress in 14/15

One player who could have a big say on York City’s fortunes this season, despite probably only being able to play 3 months of it, is Northern Ireland U-21 international Josh Carson.

Capable of the spectacular from range, all Carson’s York goals to date have come from outside the 18 yard box. Strong as an Ox and never one to shirk his defensive responsibilities as a winger, the youngster has played his way firmly into the hearts of the York City faithful. If it wasn’t for his injury and he had carried on his good form through until the end of the season, it is highly likely that the winger would’ve ended up as the York Press Player of the Season and highest on York’s assist tally.

When he returns to the game after his cruciate ligament surgery, it may take him a while to get back up to speed. However, when match fit, Carson could be like a new signing for York and that sort of impact towards the latter stages of the season could prove crucial to the clubs final league position.
