As a football fan there is nothing more painful than suffering relegation. Yeovil Town crashed out of the Championship last season, finishing bottom of the league but also with immense pride as they took their place in the second tier of English football for the first time, something no Glovers fan ever thought would be possible. Despite the media and surrounding teams all appreciating what an achievement it was for self named “Little Old Yeovil” to gain promotion in the first place, it was never enough to just get there. The fans, management team and players alike all worked tirelessly to try and stay in the Championship, but the truth was they just weren’t good enough and their small budget finally got the better of them. An immediate return to League 1 was not quite how the dream was meant to continue but here is why I think Yeovil Town fans should be excited and should remain optimistic for the season ahead.
