According to The Telegraph, Championship promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough are looking to finance a loan move for Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.
Everton winger Yannick Bolasie brought his loan spell at Aston Villa to an end at the start of this week, returning to the Premier League after opting to end his spell at Villa Park earlier than planned. Now, Middlesbrough are looking to revive their summer interest with a potential loan move for the winger.
Boro boss Tony Pulis is looking to strengthen his squad heading into the second half of the Championship season and some of the club’s players look set to depart in order to raise funds to bring players in. Middlesbrough will reportedly listen to offers for Grant Leadbitter, Adam Clayton or Ashley Fletcher and Stewart Downing’s contract situation remains up in the air.
Bolasie came in under Steve Bruce to try and bring in some flair to help Aston Villa in a promotion push for Premier League football. However, the move did not go to plan and Bolasie opted to return to Goodison Park earlier than expected.
The winger played 21 times for Aston Villa during his loan spell at Villa Park, scoring two goals and assisting five times. His last game for Villa came in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against in-form Hull City at Villa Park.
Middlesbrough were linked with a move for the former Crystal Palace winger in the summer transfer window. They looked at bringing Bolasie in on loan at the start of the season but Villa won the race to sign him on loan.
