Henderson move to Orient imminent

Nottingham Forest forward Darius Henderson is today having a medical ahead of his move to League 1 club Leyton Orient, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Pete O”Rourke.

Henderson, who has a year left on his contract at Forest, is understood to be happy to terminate his deal at Forest to push the move through and also take a pay cut to extend his playing career.

Since his arrival from Millwall, Henderson has made most of his appearances off the bench, with 31 of his 49 appearances coming as a substitute. He scored 11 times for Forest, with what looks like his last goal in a casino online Forest shirt coming in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

The signings of strikers Matty Fryatt from Hull City, and Lars Veldwijk from Dutch second division side Excelsior, who hit 30 goals for them last season, by manager Stuart Pearce, shows that if Henderson was to stay at Forest for another term, he would be even more peripheral than he already is.

Leyton Orient are seen as one of the favourites to go up next season, and the recent signing of Jobi McAnuff on a free shows that Orient are able to attract quality League 1 players. When the signing of Henderson more than likely goes through, they will have a strong squad to challenge any team in the league.
