Middlesbrough are set to lose out on Real Betis full-back Juanfran, after the Spaniard turned down a second offer from the North East team.

According to Sky Sports News, ¬†Real Betis have pressed Juanfran to make a decision on his future before the team travel to England for a pre-season friendly, ¬†‚Äėboro had hoped to sign the one time Real Madrid player but their dreams¬†now appear dashed.

Juanfran is reported to have turned down an improved offer from Middlesbrough, who have chased him for the past month and he now looks set to join  Serie A club Hellas Verona.  Juanfran has been training on his own while he decides on his future. 

In better news for Middlesbrough,  George Saville  looks set to join from Chelsea, the 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Brentford, helping them to promotion to the Championship.
