West Brom plotting move for Serbian international striker

West Brom are interested in PAOK striker Aleksandar Prijovic, according to the Sunday People (9/12, pg 52).

Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Southampton have both also been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.

Prijovic has been on fire for PAOK in the Greek Super League and could be rewarded with a move to England in the January transfer window. He has scored 12 goals in 23 games altogether this season, having previously bagged 37 goals in 60 games combined in the past two campaigns.

He moved to Greece in 2017 after impressing in Poland with Legia Warsaw. The 6ft 3inc forward had previously played for FC Sion, Lausanne Sport, Tromso, Djurgårdens and Boluspor.

Prijovic has also played in England before. After starting his career in Italy with Parma, he was handed a trial and then later signed by Derby County. He never made a senior appearance for the Rams but did enjoy loan spells at Northampton Town and Yeovil Town during his brief spell at Pride Park.

He could now be set for a move back to the English leagues with West Brom keeping an eye on him. The Baggies are currently 5th in the Championship and now six points off the automatic promotion places.

Their boss, Darren Moore, will be in the hunt for some reinforcements to his squad in January to help bolster his sides’ promotion push. Prijovic will be one of a few strikers linked with a move to Hawthorns over the next couple of weeks as the opening of a new transfer window looms upon us.
