Leeds United manager Bielsa at Barnsley game – sparks transfer comments

Let’s make no doubt about it – Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at Leeds United has lit a fire under the slumbering Whites.

Last season was a disaster for Leeds United fans to endure after the positivity of their 7th-place finish of the season before. An encouraging start to the 2017/18 Sky Bet championship campaign melted away and horrendous football saw the Whites limp miserably to 13th in the table.

Yet Bielsa has reinvigorated Leeds United, paring down an inflated first-team to the leanest minimum and instigating an attractive style of football that has captivated the imagination of the fans.

With Leeds United enjoying the last weekend of the international break, Marcelo Bielsa has been picture somewhere other than at Elland Road. Today he has been pictured at Barnsley’s Oakwell Stadium with club employee Andrea Lore. Lore was plucked from furniture room obscurity in Miami by former Whites owner Massimo Cellino after he had impressed the Italian’s wife with his customer service skills.

For a football aficionado such as Bielsa, being seen at a football match is nothing really to be concerned about. However, it is an appearance that has gotten some on Twitter talking – some of these with thoughts of ‘transfer’ on their minds and names of players on their lips. Here’s some of what they’ve been saying:

There is no news on who Bielsa might be tracking with his appearance at Barnsley vs Luton, accompanied by Andrea Lore who some say is part of the scouting team at Elland Road. However, based on the fact that he is there and that he is renowned for his interest in football, Bielsa being seen at Oakwell MUST have some significance.
