West Brom’s on loan striker Dwight Gayle has got off to an electric start to life at The Hawthorns, picking up eight goals and an assist and a Player of the Month award for September along the way.
Dwight Gayle joined West Brom as part of a season long loan deal from Newcastle United, which saw Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon move to St. James’ Park for the season.
However, it seems that The Baggies have got the better side of the deal. Rondon has scored just one Premier League goal and has been struggling with injuries, while Gayle has helped West Brom to 2nd place in the Championship and just one point behind League leaders Sheffield United.
This weekend’s 4-1 win over a struggling Reading side saw another brace from Gayle, and Baggies fans were full of praise for their top scorer. The had their say on the striker’s form on Twitter – and are all hoping that he can stay beyond the end of this season.
Dwight Gayle is the striker we’ve been missing for oh so long. Let’s hope Rondon gets amongst the goals soon so Newcastle are desperate to keep him #wba

I've decided that if we score 100 goals, concede 60 and still get promoted I'll be happy. Exciting season. It's what we were crying out for when we had Pulis.
Score our way out of the Championship, invest in some quality defenders if we go up.
And buy Gayle and Barnes. #wba

Dwight Gayle is a far better all round player than I’d have ever given him credit for before joining us. He was outstanding today, as well as the goals #wba
