“Home form is a serious concern now” – Peterborough United fans react to embarrasing 4-0 defeat vs Barnsley

In a clash between two sides gunning for promotion, Barnsley thrashed Peterborough United 4-0 in front of their home crowd.

Prior to kick off, Peterborough United manager Steve Evans wanted to see his side fix their home form with an entertaining performance against The Tykes. However, the game went far from according to plan and Barnsley ran riot, with former Posh loanee George Moncur, midfielder Brad Potts and substitute Jacob Brown scoring the goals for Daniel Stendel’s side.

The game could’ve ended much differently, had former Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney converted a 13th minute penalty, but Tykes captain Davies made a strong save from 12 yards. Just a minute later, Moncur converted from close range.

The game went from bad to worse as Potts lashed home from a free kick just before half time, sending Barnsley into the break 2-0 up. Potts added another in the second half, before Jacob Brown finished well late on to complete the rout.

Peterborough United fans have been left concerned by their home form, with the loss on Saturday being the fourth game in a row where Posh have failed to win in front of their home crowd.

Posh fans let their feelings known after the final whistle on Twitter:
