Aston Villa eyeing January swoop for Chelsea winger

Aston Villa are eyeing up a loan move for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi in January, according to Calciomercato.

The Championship side are currently without a manager but look set to appoint Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry as their new boss.

Villa are already plotting potential signings for January as they look to turn their season around and make a charge for promotion back to the Premier League.

Highly-rated winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has emerged on their radar and is a player who they want to bring in on loan to give them more attacking options.

The 17-year-old is being tipped for a big future at Chelsea but could leave them on loan to gain some first-team experience. Hudson-Odoi joined the London side in 2007 and has risen through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.

He has been a key player for Chelsea’s youth sides over recent years and has helped them win the FA Youth Cup two years in a row. The tricky winger has also represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level and was part of the U17’s side who won their World Cup last year.

Hudson-Odoi has also made five appearances for Chelsea’s first-team so far in his career and made his debut in an FA Cup fixture against fellow Premier League side Newcastle United in January.

He would be an impressive loan signing by Aston Villa if they can sign him in two months time. This is a story to keep an eye on before January.
