Young Reading duo leave on short-term loans

Young Reading duo Gabe Osho and Ade Shokunbi have left the Sky Bet Championship club on short-term loan deals according to official club sources.

Defender Osho has moved to National League club Aldershot Town on a one-month loan deal while fellow Reading Under-23s teammate Shokunbi will be at National League South club Billericay Town until the New Year.

Both players have come through the academy system at The Madejski Stadium and have gone on to appear for The Royals at Under-23 level.

Osho has captained Reading’s Development Squad while he signed a new contract with the Berskhire club earlier this year. The 20-year-old centre-back is rated very highly by The Royals and has a good chance of breaking into the first team in the future.

Midfielder Shokunbi moves out on loan for the second time in his career. The youngster spent part of last season playing in National League North with Nuneaton Town. Shokunbi signed his first professional deal with Reading in summer 2017 but like Osho, he is yet to make his first team debut for the club.

Osho could make his debut for Aldershot Town in their fixture against FC Halifax Town at The Recreation Ground on Saturday while Shokunbi and his new Billericay Town teammates host Whitehawk in the Emirates FA Cup.
