September’s Championship Manager of the Month contenders revealed

The Championship Manager of the Month contenders have been named, and four managers of four in form sides will battle it out for the title of the best Championship manager of September.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke, West Brom’s Darren Moore, Chris Wilder of Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic manager Paul Cook.

Daniel Farke’s Norwich City have remained unbeaten in all competitions throughout the month of September, winning five out of six matches in the Championship and EFL Cup combined. The Canaries have risen to 5th place in their good run of form, and will be hoping it continues into October, starting with this weekend’s match against recently relegated Stoke City.

West Brom have also had unbeaten run through September, rising to 4th place in the Championship, sitting only one point behind Leeds United, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough – who are all tied on 22 points. The Baggies endured a spell at the top of the League, playing impressive attacking football and scoring 12 goals along the way.

Chris Wilder has guided his Sheffield United side to joint top of the Championship this month, climbing to 3rd place after losing just once this month. The Blades picked up 10 points from a possible fifteen, rising up the table after a shaky start to the Championship season.

Wigan Athletic have successfully acclimatised to life back in the Championship, much thanks to manager Paul Cook. Despite losing twice this month, The Latics maintained their strong home form, conceding just once in their three home games this season. Wigan currently sit in 9th place, level on points with 6th place Brentford in a tight mid-table.

The winner of the competition will be announced on Friday 5th of October, at the same time as the Player of the Month award.
