Aston Villa fans criticise defender for horrific display in dramatic 3-3 draw

Aston Villa fans endured a dramatic night on and off the pitch last night at their side’s 3-3 draw with a struggling Preston, and only a late goal from winger Yannick Bolasie spared Villa the embarrassment of being only the second team to be beaten by Preston this season.

Glenn Whelan missed the chance to seal all three points for 10-man Aston Villa in a frantic game off football, which saw Villa blow a two-goal lead after James Chester’s second half red card and manager Steve Bruce have a cabbage thrown at him prior to kick off.

However – despite all the drama on and off the pitch – defender Alan Hutton’s performance stood out for all the wrong reasons. Naturally a right back, Hutton was deployed at left back instead, while Ahmed El Mohamady played on the right side.
