Stoke City fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Rotherham United yesterday at the New York Stadium.
It has been a tough start for the Potters since their relegation from the Premier League in May and they have found it hard to adapt to life in the Championship.
Gary Rowett’s side travelled to South Yorkshire yesterday looking for three points to help kick start their season. However, Rotherham are no pushovers and they proved that.
The game was level at half-time but the Millers came out fighting in the second-half and took the lead through a penalty from QPR loanee Ryan Manning after Stoke defender Ashley Williams fouled Ryan Williams in the penalty area.
Rotherham then doubled their lead when Richard Wood met a corner and Richie Towell flicked home from close range. Nevertheless, Stoke were able to pull one back through a cool finish by Tom Ince just before the hour mark.
Joe Allen then struck the bar before Bojan levelled it up five minutes before the end with an impressive header in front of the travelling Stoke fans.
There are positives to take from the result for Stoke but they will still be frustrated that they didn’t win the game. Here is how their fans reacted on Twitter to drawing with Rotherham-

We know we have a problem and yet game after game the same problem happens… how?? Why?? We’ve got an ageing defence and have had for a while now and we wonder why we are struggling!! #SCFC #StokeCity

Ryan Woods is excellent, Etebo and Allen are both decent.
Afobe always looks dangerous and Berahino is playing really well too. Ince and Bojan will always create chances and get their share of goals!
All in all, it’s an exciting squad, just need to learn how to defend! #SCFC— Phil Barker (@philbarker2410) September 29, 2018
Losing count of the number of times we’ve scored twice away from home and not won this season. Shocking defensively. #SCFC

Have you ever seen a team that finds it so easy to concede goals? #scfc
