QPR miss out on former Spurs youngster after recent trial

Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nathan Oduwa has opted to move to Danish club Vejle Boldklub instead of Queens Park Rangers, where he recently completed a trial. The Danish side announced the signing of the winger on the club’s website.

Nathan Oduwa never made a senior appearance for Spurs, but endured several loan spells away from White Hart Lane at Football League side Luton Town, Peterborough United, Colchester United and Scottish side Ranegrs. The winger was recently on trial at Steve McClaren’s Queens Park Rangers, but has ended up moving to Denmark with Vejle Boldklub.

QPR did enter talks with Oduwa’s representatives after impressing on trial, but opted to against a move to Loftus Road. As a player who can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder, the 22-year-old would be down the pecking order behind the likes of Ebere Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The former Spurs youngster spent last season in Slovenia with NK Olimpija Ljubljana, playing 25 games and contributing two goals and two assists in a double winning season.

The Danish side’s Director of Football Jacob Kruger had this to say on this club’s website:

“Nathan Oduwa is an exciting player who has received a good football performance in an English top club. He has played in smaller English clubs, where he has gained experience with senior football.

“As a player he has a good physique and he is fast. What, combined with skills in the field, makes us think it could be exciting to work on with him. He is still a young player to develop. We are excited about how quickly he wants to bid at our competitive level and look forward to advising him in the coming years.”
