Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United shared the spoils last night after a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.
Two stunning strikes from Sheffield Wednesday’s Adam Reach and Leeds’ Mateusz Klich are the main talking points from the game, both of which will be up there for goal of the season.
It was no secret that Leeds were the better side and will be the more disappointed with the final score. Marcelo Bielsa’s side played their usual fast paced style of play and they were a joy to watch at times.
Sheffield Wednesday dealt with them well though and Jos Luhukay and their fans should be proud of their performance yesterday. It was good to see youngsters like Jordan Thorniley, Ash Baker and Matt Penney getting their chance again.
The Owls took the lead on the stroke of half-time as Adam Reach touched the ball down and looped it over Bailey Peacock-Farrell from range to give his side the lead.
However, Leeds levelled it up in the second-half as Klich, who has had an impressive start to the season for the Whites, curled a beauty past Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson.
The result has left Luhukay’s side in 9th place and four points off Leeds at the top of the table. Here is how their fans reacted to the game last night on Twitter-

Enjoyed that tonight aside from a few hairy moments against a very good side but overall a well earned point. Felt the game lacked a bit of an edge that a derby would normally bring mind. Not even a sniff of a handbag #swfc #lufc

Leeds look a class outfit, would of settled for a point before the game, even more so after the equaliser #swfc

Anyway cracking Yorkshire derby happy with a point and the progress we’re making. Youngsters getting more game time, many things to work on but steps in the right direction #swfc
